The 2011 ASUG Business One Summit Report

by Carl Lewis on December 12, 2011

The 2011 ASUG (America SAP User Group) Business One Summit was held in Buford, Georgia in late October at Lake Lanier’s Legacy Lodge and
Resort.  This year’s Summit was held conjunction with the Georgia ASUG Chapter meeting.  It was the most successful ASUG event ever
involving a collaboration between a local chapter and a SIG (Special Interest Group) such as the SAP Business One SIG. In total, 500 people attended.

Here are some of the highlights for the SAP Business One Summit:

  • 352 Total Registrations, representing a growth of 100 over those that attended in 2010
  • 98 Customer Companies represented by 131 attendees
  • 27 SAP Staff Representatives
  • 26 Resellers Attended
  • 25 Resellers represented by their customers
  • 38 Software Solutions Providers Attendees
  • 45 Workshops (customers, SAP & SSPs)
  • 4 Technical Sessions (training will be major theme next year)

There were three (3) notable workshops presented by Vision33 customers that were big hits at the Conference this year. Mark Weighall of Pandol Brothers Farm, Hillel Sackstein of Virtual Graffiti and Francisco Murillo of Regal Springs Tilapia all shared unique stories about how they are using SAP Business One in their companies.

Mark Weighall led a workshop and wowed everyone with his accounting knowledge and creativity related to the use of SAP Business One. He clearly demonstrated the ability of SAP Business One to handle multiple companies and report in summary and detail regarding each other.

Hillel Sackstein represented the customers of Vision33 by sharing some of the customizations and integrations that his staff members have created. These powerful ideas inspired other attendees and everyone was impressed by the solutions they saw.

Francisco Murillo was at the ASUG Business One Summit with nine other staff members. As a unique agricultural company (fish farming), Regal Springs has many companies from multiple countries and languages deployed in SAP Business One. This year, they won the SAP Business One Champions award for the on-going commitment to ASUG and the Business One Special Interest Group.

Can you get copies of all the presentations?

If you are an ASUG member, absolutely yes!  The ones that are available have been posted to the SAP Business One SIG Page on the ASUG website – www.asug.com within the Documents section.
